AXIS is pleased to announce the launch of a new Lloyd's consortium, A‑Squared, which is the first consortium to focus specifically on UK onshore renewable energy projects. Underwritten by AXIS Energy Transition Syndicate 2050™ and Aviva, A‑Squared offers brokers and customers streamlined access to cover for new onshore renewables projects across the UK. These include solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems with total insured values up to £200m.
The consortium supports both construction and operational risks. It can offer up to 100% line size for qualifying risks and can take significant lead positions, with coverage that includes property damage and third-party liability as well as the flexibility to respond to more complex risks.
By combining coordinated underwriting, streamlined placement, and shared risk engineering insight, A‑Squared simplifies placement and improves access to capacity.
Leading the way in the energy transition, AXIS Energy Transition Syndicate 2050™ brings deep underwriting strength and expert risk engineering to renewables projects, helping insureds build with greater confidence and resilience.
Peter Fitzsimmons, Head of International Onshore Energy at AXIS, said: "This consortium delivers large-scale capacity to meet the current scale and future growth of the UK's onshore renewable energy industry. Through this collaborative approach, together we are providing elevated service and A-rated specialist coverage for new renewables projects across the UK and supporting the country's ambitions to build a world-leading clean energy industry."
